Call for Contributions

We invite researchers to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations as well as full session or workshop proposals addressing indigenous and underutilised crops and their role in sustainable and climate-resilient food systems. The symposium welcomes contributions from a wide range of disciplines, including agricultural sciences, ecology, economics, and food systems research.

Early-career researchers are strongly encouraged to submit contributions.

Contribution Guidelines

Oral paper presentation

Submission requirements

  • Submission must consist of an extended abstract of up to 300 words 
  • Abstracts should clearly outline the research question, methodology, and main findings
  • Submissions must be in English 
  • For jointly authored papers, the presenting author must be clearly indicated

Review and allocation process

All submissions will be reviewed based on: 

  • relevance to the conference themes
  • originality of the contribution
  • soundness of the methodlogical approach 
  • clarity of presentation

    Presentation format 

    • 10 min presentation followed by 5 min discussion. 

      Based on the reviews and the overall programme structure, the reviewers may decided whether a submitted paper is sheduled as an oral presentation or as a poster presentation

        Poster presentation

        Submission requirements

        • Submission must consist of an extended abstract of up to 300 words 
        • Abstracts should clearly outline the problem addressed, methodology, and main findings
        • Submissions must be in English 
        • For jointly authored papers, the presenting author must be clearly indicated

        Review and allocation process

        All submissions will be reviewed based on: 

        • relevance to the conference themes
        • originality of the contribution
        • soundness of the methodlogical approach 
        • clarity of presentation

        Presentation format 

        • Accepted posters will be presented in thematic poster sessoins 
        • Authors will be invited to give a short presentation (3min) 
        • Detailed poster format instructions will be provided soon 

        Workshop

        Submission requirements

        Workshop proposals should be submitted as a concept note (max. 2 pages) and include: 

        • the topic and objective of the workshop
        • the proposed format and time structure 
        • intended participants 
        • names and affiliations of organisers 

        Workshops are intended to foster interactive discussion among researchers, practitioners, and other actors. 

         

        Due to limited time and capacity, the acceptance of workshops and full sessions will depend on available slots and overall demand. 

         

         

         

        Full session proposals

        Submission requirements

        Proposals for full sessions should be submitted as a concept note of up to 4 pages and include: 

        • a description of the session theme and relevance to the conference 
        • the proposed structure (papers, discussants, moderation)

        Duration: up to 90 min. 

         

        Due to limited time and capacity, the acceptance of workshops and full sessions will depend on available slots and overall demand.
